Our creative summer equestrian riding camp program provides extensive riding and lesson time. Days are filled with horse activities geared towards developing riders into accomplished horsewomen. Unlike other horse camps we want to ensure that your child will learn the ropes from the ground up, and not simply have time in the saddle.
Our camp teaches you the reality and responsibility of managing the daily care of your horse - such as, what to do during and how to recognize equine emergencies, how to administer vaccines & medications - general medical care, horse ground-up training, horse games.
Our riding lessons use methods of natural horsemanship and will help develop balance, coordination and the imperative communication between your child and her horse.
"There are only two emotions that belong in the saddle; one is a sense of humor and the other is patience." ~ John Lyons
Love horses ? Would like to volunteer ? Now you can ! We will walk you through the general and intermediate care of a horse, provide instruction, and make you part of our family !We always need help with fundraising, horse grooming, advertising, horse exercise and much more :)
Family run, we offer the gentlest horses in the area and unlike most stables we keep them through retirement. We also run a Horse Rescue, and most of our horses came from auctions and other, unfortunate circumstances.
Rides are approximately 45-50 minutes with an additional instructional lesson prior to the ride to help you familiarize yourself with how the horses have been trained and answer any questions you may have. Longer rides available.
The camp operates in a relaxing atmosphere, which is the key to raising good-natured horses.
Have your children enjoy trail rides, explore Adirondack theme parks & local attractions, trips to organic farms (dairy, produce, etc),community activities & volunteering, trips to the beach, the lakes & great outdoors, wilderness trips & safety, canoeing, music & theater, food preparation & nutrition, and much more !!
